Bussleton Pier

Perth's one way system was pretty confusing but soon we were on the freeway heading south...
We drove for what seemed like an eternity without seeing any signs to say we going to Margaret River and so stopped at a servo (petrol station) to ask if we were going the right way. The guy said we were and just to keep on trucking! It sort of hits you at times like these just how big Australia is and that the Aussie's perception of what is a long way is way way way further than what we would think is a long way back home. At home I think having to drive from Norwich to Cambridge is a long enough journey!!! Here that wouldn't be anything...
So we carried on and soon saw some signs for places along the way. We stopped off at bunbury which is a small town on the coast. We had a quick look around, went down to the harbour and a look at the Dolphin trip place and then got back in the car and did as the man said "kept on trucking!'...
The next place we came to was Bussleton. Again we had a little drive around and parked up by the beach and had a look at the pier. Bussleton has the longest wooden pier in Australia (or it could even be the longest in the southern hemisphere - I cant remember!).
The beach was really nice at Bussleton and I would reccomend stopping there to anyone doing this drive...
We kept on moving and after a few more hours driving on straight roads with hardly any cars, we made it to Margaret River.
We drove through the town centre which was really nice with lots of nice restaurants and stuff and then we headed 12ks out towards the coast to Prevelly where we were staying at the Surf Point Backpackers Resort.
