Australia Day

Australia Day

Australia Day was awesome!

We got up early and headed down to the harbour to watch the surfboard race which started at 8.30am. There were loads of people paddling on their surfboards from the Opera House all the way across the harbour on the 3.5k course! They looked pretty tired! I think loads of them were hung over! It looked like good fun though, if I had a surfboarrd I'd have been in there (haven't got one yet though).

I was invited to a breakfast BBQ so we walked round to the house at MacMahons Point after that. The house had an awesome view of the harbour! Absolutely wicked! We put both the Australian and the English flag up on the balcony and watched all the events on the harbour.

There was a race with all the ferries which was good and loads and loads of boats sailing about - I've never seen the harbour so busy! There were helicopters flyig arouund from all the news networks here and there was a fly past by some fighter planes which was cool! Canons were fired from the other side of the harbour too - loads going on it was wicked! I love Australia Day!

After that we had some food and then walked over the harbour bridge and to the Rocks (the oldest part of Sydney). We went to the Lord Nelson pub (the oldest pub in Sydney) and had a few beers in the sun! The weather was cracking!

After that we took a walk around the Rocks and watched all the live music there whichw as good fun and then I headed over to Coogee to meet up with the boys and get ready to go see Kasabian!
