There were loads of these on Rottnest.
When Rottnest Island was discovered by the dutch they named in so because of the big rats they saw there - Rats Nest Island. These were actually not rats but Quokkas.
They were pretty cool, not scared at all really, had to swerve out of the way of one of them when I was on my bike!
