I went to Bondi beach with my mate James yesterday. It was his day off and I'm trying to make the most of my last week before I start work on Monday so we thought we'd go for a swim!
The waves were massive! They are a bit different here from Coogee too, the waves start breaking real far out whereas at Coogee they break right on the beach. So we had to fight pretty hard just to get out deep had to fight real hard to get back to shore! Its pretty easy to see how people get into trouble in the sea here as the currents are so strong.
There were a few surfers out quite far catching waves and the lifeguards were speeding about on their jet skis making sure everyone was ok. Someone drowned at Bondi a couple of weeks ago and its easy to see how that could happen really.
It was cool though!
After swimming, James and I sat on the beach and some Japanese tourists came up and wanted their photo taken with us! It was well funny! First a bloke and then this Japanese lady! They couldn't speak a word of English either but we figured out what they meant! They must have taken about 10 photos. The lady just sat down on my towel next to me and put her arm round me! James and I were laughing loads!
I reckon they thought they were having their photo taken with 2 local Aussie's on Bondi beach - little did they know they were having their photos taken with 2 English lads from Norwich!
The weather wasn't that great yesterday so I didn't put as much sun screen on a usual and managed to get burnt! Great one! We went a for some food one of the bars at Bondi and James' girlfriend Lisa joined us and we had a couple of beers.
After that I said bye to James and Lisa and headed to Coogee to meet the lads for footy...
