I Will Not Die Today...!

Maya Bay (aka The Beach)

I have done some fairly dangerous stuff in my life (sky diving, white water rafting, some pretty crazy stunts on my BMX when I was little, etc) but today we did the most dangerous thing I have ever done in my life! It was crazy!

We went on a boat trip to Ko Phi Phi LI (the island from the film The Beach) and because the weather has been bad our speed boat couldn't sail in the bay but had to park up round the other side of the island and then walk to the beach (Maya Bay)...

That wasn't a problem until we had to walk across all these razor sharp rocks with waves crashing in on us! Had to hold on to the rocks really tight when the big waves hit... I was well scared didn't think we were going to make it at one point!!! Then we had to go through a really tight tunnel between the rocks which was about 30ft long... Waves were crashing in here too and Stevie got knocked off his feet at one point...

Eventually we made it ot The Beach - it was ok but didn't look that great because the weather has been bad... The wind was blowing the sand so hard it hurt your skin and we went in the sea but the waves were massive and battered us!!!

Then we had to go back to the boat the way we had came - across the killer rocks!! It was even worse this time as the waves were bigger. I made myself some prtective shoes using 2 t-shirts which helped bigtime as the rocks were so sharp. Made it across the slope which was the worst part and then got battered by the waves again in the tunnel!!! Nice!!

Evetually we made it back to the boat... No one out of the 10 of us (we went there with these Irish and German lads we met last night who are funny!) got hurt, apart from small cuts on our hands and feet, but I dont know how - we were so lucky...

We were all saying "I Will Not Die Today!!!" like Leonardo Di Caprio in the film!!!

Its mental that we even did it. It wouldn't happen back home, just wouldn't be allowed, but Thailand is like that, you can do anything - not much in the way of health and safety!!!

We are are totally knackered now - I feel physically and emotionally drained and my feet hurt sooooooooooooooooooo bad...
