I’m in Australia now – Yeah!!! It’s LOADS better!
I feel loads happier now that I am here…!
I caught a taxi from the airport to Coogee Oval to meet Adam as he was playing footy there. It was real good to see him as I haven’t seen him for over a year. We were straight back in though just like we always have been – that’s the sign of a really good friend I think, that things never change even when you don’t see them for ages.
Then we got another taxi to Adam’s flat in Randwick. I met Jules (Adam’s Canadian girlfriend) at the flat, she is really nice. Adam’s flat is really nice too, it’s well swanky!!! He’s a got real nice sofas and a flat screen TV with surround sound! And the flat has 2 bathrooms so I have my own one which is well good! My room is cool too! Plus there is a massive rooftop terrace with view over Sydney Harbour! Its ace!
Last night we watched Man U v Liverpool on Fox Sports (just like Sky but Aussie). It kicked off at 10pm so it wasn’t too bad time wise. Some of the games (like Champions league) dont kick off until 4.30am! Not sure if I'll be staying up to watch them!
Adam and I went to get some food before the game and headed to the local pizza place, Arthur’s, which is really good. Adam knows all the Greek guys that run this pizza place and as soon as we went in there they invited us out the back of the shop where they were having a BBQ! It was wicked! They are all really into English football and everyone was talking about the game. There was an even split of Man U and Liverpool supporters so there was some good banter! Oh there was also one guy who supported Southampton!
They had loads of ribs on the Barbie and kept giving me and Adam loads of food! They also gave us a couple of beers each, Carlsberg because Adam supports Liverpool! The food was really nice and one of the guys, Bill, told us in detail about how he had marinated the ribs for 2 days!
So we were there for about an hour talking to all these Aussie/Greek guys about football and BBQs, it was class and a right laugh! They were also taking the mickey out of us saying that Adam looked like Jamie Oliver and that I looked like Prince Harry! Then Adam and I said we were making a move back to the flat to watch the game and they gave us our pizzas for free! I couldn't believe that! I also couldn't really eat anything else after the BBQ as we ate loads of ribs!
Aussies are real friendly (well the Greek Aussies are anyway!).
After that we watched the football. Bit of a duff game from a Liverpool point of view, slack marking for Scholes’ goal, Sissoko and Carragher have to take the blame for that after going to head the same ball and then being out of position. Rio’s goal was a good finish though, didn’t realise he was capable of that as he is usually such a donkey in front of goal...
It was pretty late when the game finished so we hit the sack.
Today I’m just chilling out as Adam and Jules are both at work. I’m sleeping on the floor at the moment so I’m going to head to the shops and get an air bed. Also need to get an Aussie SIM card and sort loads of stuff like that out.
It’s a lot warmer in Australia than NZ too, so that is a bonus!!!
Got a real bad cough at the moment, feel a bit sick and seem to have lost some weight. Also feeling pretty homesick and missing Becky LIKE CRAZY! Other than all that though its going pretty good!

Were those ribs ok Paul? Bit worried you haven't posted since you consumed them......
As the tall, skinny, long faced guy has stated above.......we need to see "a whole lotta a blogging go on"!
