Full Moon Party

The full moon party attracts loads of western people and loads opf thais so there were about 4000-5000 people on Haad Rin beach drinking and partying all night!

As there are 8 of us now it is a really good laugh. We all stayed up at our resort drinking to kick the night off and then headed down to the beach. Marco and I gambled and left our flip flops behind which was plan and worked out well as loads of people lost theirs!

There were lots of fire shows on the beach and loads of different stages all competing with each other to play the loaudest music!

There were loats of different music style too, there was a drum and bass stage, a trance stage, hip hop/RnB stage and then some real cheesy stuff too! All 8 of us were dancing to Byran Adams Summer of 69 at one point!!! the best stages were the ones outside the Cactus Bar and the Drop Inn Bar. It was a top laugh.

There were loads of Thai people selling glowing wristbands and stuff so we bought a few of them and got in the spirit!!

There are also loats of stalls selling buckets which are the full moon party drink of choice! For around 180 Baht you get a little bucket (like you'd make a sand castle with) and they fill it with Thai Whiskey, Coke and then Thai Red Bull! So we had a fews of these too which was a laugh...

There was a slo a random Thai fella going around with an Iguana and putting it on people's shoulders so they could have their photo taken which was a bit random... and a bit cruel I thought.

On another stall they were selling massive lantern baloons which you could light and send off into the sky. This was ace! we all wrote messages on the baloon about our friends and family back home and about us being in Thailand. Then we lit a fire under it and let it fill up like a hot air baloon and then it took of into the sky! It was a really cool sight seeing the ballon flying off over the beach and the sea in the dark - we could see it go for miles. It was a really cool experience and something that I will remember forever...

After that we danced some more and soon it started to get light. Some of the lads went back to the bungalow but Omar, Joe and I stayed and watche the sunrise... This was really cool too! The sun came up so fast and it went from below the horizon to full above in under 5 minutes...!

Then we decided to go to bed as it was 7am!

After getting up pretty late today we have just been chilling doing typical western backpacker stufff like watching films and eating food. Think tonight will be a quiet one compared to last night!
